More about upcoming tournaments

Finland-Sweden T20I series
Finland will host Sweden on 20-22 August 2021 at the Kerava National Cricket Ground. Finland last faced Sweden in 2017 in the Finland-Sweden-Estonia Nordic-Baltic tournament. This time, the two neighbouring countries are fighting for points affecting the ICC global rankings. Finland is currently ranked 64th.

The Swedish team is led by Head Coach Jonty Rhodes, a South African equivalent of Jari Litmanen from the world of football, and who is considered to be a fielding virtuoso. Cricket Finland will stream the four matches of the tournament weekend via its YouTube channel. Matches start on Saturday and Sunday at 10.30 and 15.00. The Finland-Sweden series will be all T20 games, each game lasting around 3 hours including breaks.

ECC Tournament
Finland was invited to the first ECC tournament on the basis of its European ranking. This championship tournament, which includes 15 countries and more than 100 matches, will be played over four weeks between September and October in Spain. The European Cricket Network, ECN, will stream the matches on its own platform. The ECC event will be played using the rapid T10 game format.

“It is great to be able to play this international series against Sweden, especially now that, due to the pandemic, all other tournaments have so far been cancelled – both last summer and this summer. The Finnish Bears are up for the challenge,” says Andrew Armitage, Chairman of Cricket Finland.
