Cricket Finland is proud to announce the successful kickoff of the Suomi Youth League 2026 (U17), a premier competitive indoor tournament designed to showcase the rising stars of Finnish cricket.
The league officially commenced its first match day on February 21st at Pallomylly, bringing together the country’s most talented young players (ages 13–16) for a high-octane display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The Suomi Youth League serves as a critical bridge between junior participation and the high-performance National Team pathway. Utilising the Cricket Finland Indoor T10 rules and playing with yellow indoor balls, the format ensures a fast-paced environment where every ball counts.
With 8 players per team and innings lasting 8 to 10 overs, the league emphasises tactical agility and technical precision. To ensure the highest standards of safety and professionalism, all participants are required to wear full protective gear and hold a valid Cricket Finland U18 License.
The competition is structured over two intense match days, providing teams with the opportunity to refine their strategies and climb the standings. Following the opening rounds in February, the league will culminate in a grand finale and Awards Ceremony on March 14th, where the season’s top performers will be recognised.
The U17 league is part of a broader commitment by Cricket Finland to expand youth opportunities in 2026, running alongside the Suomi Junior League (U13) and the Open and Women’s National Cage Cricket Competition. These initiatives reflect the association’s mission to make cricket a year-round sport accessible to all age groups across the country.
