The 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub-regional Qualifier C in Finland on August 14–15. The matches were played in Kerava and Tikkurila, Vantaa. The qualifiers will continue at the same venues until August 21.
Finland played matches on both the first two days in Kerava and Tikkurila. In their opening match in Kerava, the Bears lost to Spain, who are ranked the highest out of any team in the tournament.
Finland batted first after losing the toss. The match got off to an even start with Finland’s openers Aniketh Pushtay and Aravind Mohan combining for 41 runs. When Spain’s spin bowlers Charlie Rumistrzewicz and Lorne Burns started their spells, Finland’s innings spiraled out of control. Finland lost eight batsmen by the time they had scored only 85 runs. Mohan, who scored an impressive 57 runs without getting out, survived the collapse and received support from Piumal Karunarathna. Thanks to them, the Bears managed to stretch their total to 131 runs. Spain managed to surpass Finland’s run total thanks to Yasir Ali (40 runs) and Daniel Doyle-Calle (49 runs). Two wickets by Finland’s pacer Piumal Karunarathna narrowed the gap between Spain and Finland, but Ali and Doyle-Calle shook off the Finnish pressure and led Spain to victory with eight wickets in hand.
Result: Finland 131/9 (20) – Spain 135/2 (16.4), Spain won by 8 wickets

In Saturday’s match in Tikkurila, Finland’s luck took a turn for the better as they secured a crushing victory over Bulgaria. Bulgaria won the coin toss and elected to bowl. However, that decision did not yield the desired result for the Bulgarians, as the Finnish batters were devastating and racked up 232 runs, breaking their own record for their highest total, which had previously stood at 199 runs.
Several Finnish batters contributed to the record-breaking performance. The tempo was set by the top-order batters Aravind Mohan, with 26 runs, carrying on his form from the previous game and Vanraaj Padhaal, with 17 runs. After their dismissals, the destructive batting was continued by Faraaz Mehti Abbas (32 runs), Faheem Nellancheri (37 runs), and Nicholas Salonen (34 runs). The trio smashed several fours and sixes, which helped maintain Finland’s brisk batting pace. Junaid Khan and Madhawa Basnayaka finished off the innings, leading Finland to its record-breaking total.
Bulgaria was unable to gain momentum during their innings, as the Finnish bowlers delivered an exemplary performance. Spinner Hammadullah Shinwari shined the brightest with a fifer and was given the Player of the Match award. Bulgaria managed to score only 140 runs and lost the match by 92 runs.
Finland will continue its qualifying matches on Tuesday and Thursday, facing Luxembourg and the Isle of Man.

Other Matches:
Each team has played at least one match after the first two days of play. The Spanish and Portuguese teams have made an impression, having won both of their matches.
In addition to defeating Finland, Spain also beat the Isle of Man on Saturday without any major setbacks. The Spanish bowlers in particular have been in top form and have posed major challenges to their opponents.
Portugal has defeated Israel and Germany using the same formula as Spain, putting their oppositions under pressure with their bowling. The victory over Germany was vital, as Germany is one of the strongest teams in the tournament alongside Spain and Portugal.
The tournament continues until Friday, August 21. The winner will advance to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier and join Scotland, Jersey, and Denmark
