This August, Finland will host one of the most international sporting events of the summer.
For ten unforgettable days, national teams, cricket fans, volunteers and communities from across Europe will come together in Kerava and Tikkurila for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2026.
But this event is about more than cricket – as a volunteer, you’ll be at the heart of it all.
It’s about atmosphere, community, culture and connection. It’s about bringing people together across languages, backgrounds and borders through the shared excitement of live sport.
You’ll help create unforgettable experiences for players, visitors and spectators while experiencing the energy, atmosphere and excitement yourself. Whether you’re passionate about sports, events, hospitality, media or simply looking for a unique summer experience, there’s a place for you on our team.
Volunteer Roles
Match Operations
Help deliver matches, support teams and contribute to the smooth running of activities on and around the field of play.
Event Production
Support venue operations, logistics, accreditation and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the tournament running smoothly.
Event Experience
Help create a welcoming, exciting and memorable experience for spectators, teams, media representatives and VIP guests.

You’ll experience international cricket from the inside, meet people from around the world, make new friends and become part of a diverse volunteer community helping to deliver a major international sporting event in Finland. You don’t need to know cricket to enjoy the experience. The tournament is designed to welcome both lifelong cricket fans and people discovering the sport for the very first time.

Who Can Apply?
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
You can apply if you:
- Are 16 years of age or older
- You live in Finland
- Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people
- Are interested in sports, events, hospitality, media or community engagement
- Want to be part of a unique international experience
No previous volunteer experience is required. No cricket knowledge is required.
Languages
English is the main working language of the tournament due to its international nature.
Many volunteer roles can also be performed in Finnish, and additional language skills are always an advantage.

No. Many volunteer roles do not require any knowledge of cricket. Training and guidance will be provided.

Volunteer Team Lead
Volunteer Team Lead is the key link between the event organisation and volunteers. You will support and coordinate volunteer teams, share important information and help create a positive volunteer experience throughout the tournament. As a Team Lead, you'll take on responsibility in helping volunteer operations run smoothly and supporting the event production and your On-site Leads.
Confident communicators who enjoy admin, leadership, teamwork and supporting others.
Volunteer On-site Lead
Volunteer On-site Leads are responsible for supporting volunteer operations at either Kerava or Tikkurila throughout the tournament. You'll act as the main volunteer contact on-site, support Team Lead and help ensure volunteers have everything they need to succeed. As a Venue Lead, you'll play a key role in coordinating volunteer activities and keeping operations running smoothly throughout the event.

Event Production Assistant
Help keep the tournament moving behind the scenes. Event Production Assistants support logistics, deliveries, transportation and operational tasks across the venue. This role offers a unique opportunity to see how an international sporting event comes together from the inside.

Area Set-up
Help transform our two national cricket grounds into international tournament venues. From branding and signage to venue dressing and event infrastructure, you'll contribute to creating the look and feel of the event before the first ball is bowled and after the final match is played.

Staff Catering Assistant
Support the teams that keep the tournament running. You'll help coordinate meals and refreshments for volunteers, staff and officials, ensuring everyone is fuelled and ready for the day.

Cleanliness & Recycling
Help create a clean, comfortable and sustainable event environment. You'll support waste management, recycling efforts and venue upkeep throughout the tournament.
Organised people who take pride in creating great visitor experiences.
Security Steward
Be one of the friendly faces that help create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone attending the tournament. You'll assist with access control, spectator guidance and general event safety procedures.

Traffic Flow Guide
Help visitors, and event personnel move smoothly around the venue. You'll support vehicle and pedestrian flow, provide directions and help ensure safe and efficient access to event areas.

Ticket Sales & Guest Accreditation
Welcome visitors to the tournament and help them begin their event experience. You'll assist with ticketing, accreditation and guest arrivals while providing a friendly first impression of the event.

Customer Service & Guest Info
Be the go-to person for visitors throughout the tournament. You'll answer questions, provide information and help spectators make the most of their day.

VIP Host & Hostess
Help create a memorable experience for invited guests, partners and VIP visitors. You'll welcome guests, provide assistance and contribute to a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

Criiio Kids’ Games Assistant
Help introduce young people to cricket through fun games and activities. You'll support children's cricket experiences and encourage participation in a welcoming environment.

Cricket Host & Ambassador
Help visitors discover the world's second most popular sport. You'll introduce new audiences to cricket, answer questions and help create an inclusive and welcoming tournament atmosphere.

Tournament Communications Manager
Helping create press releases and other information for the tournament. This role would ideally start already before the tournament and would continue throughout with daily summaries of the matches.
A person with some prior background in working with events, especially in sports, and knowledge of contacts in media.
Social Media Content Producer
Capture the atmosphere of the tournament and help bring the event to life online. You'll create content for social media channels and help tell the story of the event as it unfolds.

Photographer
Capture the moments, emotions and energy of the tournament. Your images will help document the event and share its story with audiences in Finland and around the world.
Photographers looking to build experience in live events and sports.
Venue Manager’s Assistant
Help getting the ground, team areas and officials' areas ready for the day, and tidy up at the end of the day. This is a vital part of making the match day run smoothly. This will cover anything and everything that is required before, during, and after the matches.
A person with some understanding of cricket and being part of a team, but also for someone without any knowledge of the game but is a team worker.
Ballboy / Girl
You will support the Match related team by looking for balls that are hit outside the boundary, then returning them to the game.
Young people with an interest in international events and some experience in cricket.
Driver for the Tournament umpires
The main task is to drive the umpires from the hotel to the venue for the matches and back to the hotel on match days.
Someone who is organised and is good at timekeeping.
