League Administrator

Weekly hours: 10-20
Position type: Paid, wage 10 euros / hour
Location: Southern Finland (80-90% remote work, formal workplace Helsinki)
Preferred start date: Mid-March for knowledge transfer from the interim holder of the position

Role

During the summer season:

  • The League Administrator ensures the smooth flow of FCA competitions by acting as the main point of contact between the FCA and the league-playing clubs in routine league matters.
  • The main focus of the role is on ensuring the timely and reliable execution of competition management, player transfers and licensing, scheduling issues, ground league support operations, and player and club discipline.
  • The role supports competition communications, data quality work, and sanctioned competitions.
  • The person executes most routine tasks independently and has a clearly defined process for escalating issues that are outside the remit of the position or her/his knowledge.

Outside the summer season:

  • The main focus of the role is on indoor competition planning and management, player transfers, and preparation for the next summer season.

Ideal Candidate

  • Able to execute routine tasks with reasonable speed and high accuracy.
  • Strong English language skills with at least passable Finnish language skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in organising sports competitions.
  • Knowledge of the applicable regulations or aptitude for learning them

The role requires some work to be completed during weekends.

The preferred start date for the person selected to the role is in mid-March for knowledge transfer from the interim League Administrator.

League Director

Location: Finland

Role

  • The League Director oversees all aspects of the domestic competitions organised by the FCA and facilitates and supports the routine work carried out by the League Administrator.
  • As a member of the FCA Management Group, the League Director is expected to contribute to the overall development of the sport in Finland.
  • The role has primary responsibility for preparing format and level proposals, overseeing the team registration process, and coordinating league scheduling.
  • The League Director has the authority to interpret the relevant competition regulations and has to issue decisions based on them.
  • The role acts as second-level support on routine league issues.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has knowledge of current FCA competition regulations and domestic cricket competitions.
  • Strong English language skills (Finnish language skills are a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team in the Management Group and independently in the League Director role.
  • Uses an analytical mindset in planning and decision-making.
  • Either does not play league cricket or at least does not play in the FPL or NLD1.

The role requires the person to be available for phone consultation during some weekends.

The preferred start date for the person selected to the role is in the beginning of April. The focus of the role during the 2023 summer season will be on facilitating the League Administrator, planning the indoor season and gradually being inducted into planning the 2024 outdoor season.
