Exciting news that Cricket Finland will be hosting an Elite T20 tournament this summer. If you are resident in Finland, interested in committing to the below programme and have the performances to back-up your selection, then read the below carefully and get your club official representative to formally nominate you (see deadline below).
2018 T20 ELITE PROGRAMME & SELECTION PROCESS – CLUB ACTION REQUESTED
PRINCIPLE OF THE TOURNAMENT: To offer the highest level of T20 cricket in Finland to a wider group of players, to have the best playing against the best and support the pathway to the Finnish National Team
SQUADS: 3 sets of 14-15 players
MATCHES: 9 games with international quality white balls
MATCH DATES: Sat. 9th June – Sat. 14th July – Sat. 4th August, all at KNCG, starting 10:30am
TOURNAMENT SELECTORS: Andrew Armitage (NT manager), Nathan Collins (NT skipper), Yasir Quadir (NT coach) & Maneesh Chauhan (national U21 coach & NT player)
TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR (TD), UMPIRES & SCORERS: To be confirmed
SELECTION PROCESS: NT squad players (all current) + selected players from Finland U21 squad + open nominations invited from CF member clubs for up to 3 players to be considered for selection; selectors retain the right to select other players not nominated (based on stats, performance etc.) => nominated players will be considered for selection for the remaining 20-25 places; see names of the NT & U21 players selected at the foot of this memo, so you are aware of those already included in selection.
PLAYER CONTRIBUTION: Match fee for each player on a per match basis; 3 skippers will collect the match fee on the day and give to the TD on each match day; cost coverage for a part of balls, umpire fees, TD & scorers fees, playing clothing & ground cost => match fee 10€/player/match
DEADLINE FOR SELECTIONS: Nominations from clubs by LATEST 20th April using official club email to ; final selections 15-man squads announced by latest May 9th
PLAYING WEAR: CF will provide navy-blue trousers and navy-blue batting pads and will source 45 playing shirts (a part of the cost included in match fee) from Surridge in 3 different colours. Clothing to be returned and washed after each match day.
