Watched by some slightly bemused locals, Jyväskylä CC hosted a Tampere CC invitational side for a series of two friendly T20 matches at their Keltinmäki home ground. The 9 TreCC representatives were treated to a nice lunch and even some patches of sunshine in what was overall a very enjoyable inaugural day of
outdoor cricket in Jyväskylä and quite possibly the first ever match in Central Finland. The nature of the closely fought 10-a-side matches bodes well for future competitive rivalry between the two inland clubs, and ensured that there were some very weary bodies in the evening...

Match 1 - TreCC-IX 160/5 (A.Mohammad 47, A.W.Qureshi 36, Y.Mashkoor 34, T.Masood 1/21, D.Agar 1/30); JCC-X 140/9 (T.Masood 66, N.Stewart 33, Y.Mashkoor 2/32, A.Mohammad 2/16). TreCC win by 20 runs.

Match 2 - JCC-X 167/8 (**); TreCC-IX 168/2.
(Syed Numan 118*, Tipu 1/28). TreCC win by 6 wkts.

The season is now under way. The complete lists for SM50, SM40 and Open T-20 leagues (including umpiring duty) can be downloaded here (.pdf, updated 13.6.2010) 

The results and league point tables will be updated on the SM50, SM40 and Open T20 pages as the season continues.

Teams are reminded that formalised league point penalties for neglect of administrative team/match duties have been introduced this year. The complete rules can be downloaded from the Rules page of this website. A summary of the penalties for administrative fouls are can also be found here

FCA will be screening the ICC World T20 finals on Sunday, May 16, on the big screen (Unicafe Servinmökki, Otaniemi). The main purpose of this event is to raise funds for the National Team tour of Denmark this year.

All of the cricketing fraternity in Finland are encouraged to attend this event.

A great way for newcomers to learn about the game too !

FCA will organise 2 umpire/scorers courses in the upcoming weeks. One will be held in Helsinki and the other in Turku. Please reply to me (vema -at- clausuramedia.fi) by Saturday 24th April for your interest!
 
There will be a nominal fee of 15 euros per participant.
This needs to be paid before the course.
I will send the payment details later. 
 
Helsinki course:
Wed. 28th April 2010, 18:00-21:00
Radiokatu 20, Pasila

Turku course:
Sat. 8th May 2010, 13:00-17:00
Veritas Stadium. Blombergin aukio 4, Kupittaa.
 
Course content will be:
- basic introduction to scoring course
- elucidation of 2010 league regulations (changes/additions) 
- 5-over scoring exercise
